Seaside, Calif. – The CSUSB men's soccer team suffered a defeat against Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday afternoon, losing 0-1 in the CCAA Tournament. 
 
With this loss, the Yotes wrapped up the season with an overall record of 7-7-4 (.500) and a conference record of 4-5-2 (.460). This marks the seventh consecutive season in which the Yotes have maintained an overall win percentage of .500 or higher.
 
The Yotes made 8 shot attempts during the match, but none found the mark. Despite four of those shots being on target, all of them were thwarted by the CSUMB goalkeeper.
The offense was led by 
Nicklaus Sullivan, who attempted two shots, forcing one save out of the Otters. 
Tony Negrete, 
Martin Garcia, and 
Victor Chavez all attempted shots in the game as well, but none managed to find the back of the net.
The Otters scored their lone goal in the 78th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead late in the game. After their goal, the Yotes applied pressure by outshooting the Otters three to one for the remainder of the match. The game's intensity was evident as four yellow cards were issued following the goal, totaling eight for the game.
 
CSUSB's goalkeeper, John Samano, played the first 45 minutes of the game, and junior goalkeeper 
Mark Gamez took over at halftime. Gamez made 5 saves in the second half, coming close to his season-high of 6 saves against San Francisco State.
