SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The CSUSB men's basketball team defeated Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday night, improving to 10-1 on the season with a perfect 5-0 record in CCAA play.
The Yotes jumped out to a commanding 25-10 lead in the first ten minutes of the game, with
Brandon Knapper and
Eddie Davis scoring 10 and nine points respectively. The Yotes carried this momentum until seven minutes remained on the clock, at which point the Yotes offense stalled out – only scoring two more points for the remainder of the first half. However, the Yotes' early aggressiveness cushioned them with a comfortable 39-26 lead heading into halftime.Â
Â
Both offenses turned it around in the second half, with CSULA narrowly outscoring the Yotes 54-53 in the half. The final score would come out to 92-80, giving the Yotes their fifth consecutive win.
Robby Robinson posted another double-double in his second consecutive game, this time leading the Yotes with 12 rebounds while also scoring 13 points. The Yotes continued to improve their nation-leading rebound margin, out rebounding the Golden Eagles 46 to 20. They now sit at +16.3 on the season.

Five other Yotes also reached double-digits in the game – Knapper and
Darius Mickens leading the team with 17 each,
Dontrell Shuler with 14,
Mahmoud Fofana with 12, and Davis with 11. As a whole, the team shot 52 percent from the floor and 42 percent from three. The Yotes' balanced scoring was supplemented with 21 total assists, their fourth highest of the season.
