SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Yotes finish sweep of homestead in close win over the Lumberjacks.
The Yotes are 9-17 in faceoffs with the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks, their two most recent encounters going in favor of the Yotes. Both teams are tied in conference standings, each with a record of 4-7.
Jaida Jackson put the Yotes on the board first with a layup five seconds into this afternoon's game. The Yotes meant business as they looked to extend their win streak through the weekend. In a busy first quarter, the Yotes would have an evenly spread offense where

Tori Guzman both led with six points each. The Lumberjacks were held to a score of 22 while the Yotes went on a 12 point scoring run in the second, putting them ahead 22-31.
The Lumberjacks pulled ahead in the third, the visiting team getting some help from the Yotes' five turnovers to take the lead in the final seconds of the quarter. Â The Yotes didn't give up the lead for the rest of the game, despite the Lumberjacks' staying within four points. With a final score of 64-58, the Yotes complete their weekend sweep an improve their win streak to two.
Jaida Jackson finished with eight points, four rebounds and a season high seven assists.
Destiny Jackson led the Yotes in scoring with 19 points and seven rebounds and
Mia Dufresne was close behind with 11 points.
