CHICO, Calif. – Climbing their way back from a loss in the first round, the Yotes forced their way into the CCAA Championship Tournament Semifinals where they faced Cal St. Dominguez Hills. Although CSUSB was first on the board, the Toros big third inning gave them the lead and another big sixth inning sealed the victory for Cal State Dominguez Hills, 12-3.
First on the mound for the Yotes was
Chris Hernandez who pitched for two innings throwing 51 pitches and collecting three strikeouts.
Andres Quinones held on the mound for six innings throwing 97 pitches, collecting one strikeout. Both
AJ Barraza and
Daryl Ruiz each collected two hits on the game.
Kyle Csakan expanded on his Yotes homerun record by hitting a homer left field for a single RBI. Csakan now holds the CSUSB record at 21 homeruns on the season. The Yotes collected nine hits, three RBIs, and 14 assists on the game.

CSUSB closes the season with a record of 27-27; 21-19 CCAA. The Yotes advanced to the Semifinals in the CCAA Championship Tournament which puts a stamp on the best season for CSUSB baseball in 20 years (2002).
