SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The Yotes began their series against the Chico State Wildcats a day earlier due to the holiday weekend. CSUSB shared a moment to celebrate the faculty selected by student-athletes for Faculty Appreciation prior to the first pitch. The Yotes were not able to overcome the score gap created by the Wildcats in the first inning and fell to Chico State, 20-11.
Although he was not the starting pitcher,
Luke Hempel pitched for four innings collecting three strikeouts on the game. Garret Macias connected for a home run in the fifth inning for a two RBI.
Kyle Csakan also hit a home run, but in the seventh inning for a two RBI.
Jake Borst connected for three hits and one RBI on the game and Parker Riley collected three hits as well. The Yotes as a team collected 11 hits, 11 RBIs, and 11 assists on the game.
