CHICO, Calif. – The Yotes traveled up north to take on the Chico State Wildcats. Heading into this game, CSUSB held an overall record of 11-12 against Chico State. At the jump, the Wildcats came at a roaring pace that the Yotes could not match. Chico State took the win, 73-51.
CSUSB batted in the paint collecting 22 points, 41 rebounds, and eight second chance points. The Yotes defense forced the Wildcats to commit 12 turnovers with four of them coming from steals. CSUSB bench collected 23 points on the game. Chico State won the game comfortably, 73-51.
"We played a tough team in Chico, and we fell way short of our potential" said coach
Casandra Renno. "We made a lot of mistakes and were very inconsistent. Looking forward to finishing the season strong."
Leading the pack in scoring was
Mia Dufresne as she collected her first double-double of the season with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and one block.
Nikki Mayoral tallied her season best as she collected 13 points from three of six shooting.
Mia Finnie scored big for the Yotes, putting nine points on the board while collecting six rebounds and one assist.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next game on Thursday, February 10
