SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Heading into the game the Yotes held an overall record of 3-6 against the Cal State San Marcos Cougars. Currently, CSUSM stands at first place in the CCAA conference. CSUSB held close against the Cougars, down only two points at the half. Cal State San Marcos would create an uncatchable lead and take the win, 74-49.
The Yotes shot 21 for 58, collecting a 36.2 field goal percentage on the game. From beyond the arch, CSUSB hit four shots for 33.3 percent from three-point range. The Yotes struggled rebounding as they grabbed 24 rebounds against CSUSM's 48 rebounds.
"We started off strong and couldn't capitalize down the stretch when we needed to" said coach
Casandra Renno. "We have to continue to push down the stretch and dig deep within ourselves to get the job done."
Once again leading CSUSB in points was
Mia Dufresne who scored 16 points, and had four rebounds and two blocks.
Destiny Jackson scored 10 points while collecting three rebounds and two assists.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next game on Saturday, February 12
