IRVINE, Calif. – The Yotes started the day bright and early with first pitch scheduled for 9 a.m. They faced a delay that held the second game up approximately three hours. CSUSB split games defeating Holy Names University but fell to Western Washington University.
CSUSB faced Holy Names University for their first game of the day. The Yotes forced Holy Names into extra innings where they won the game off of left field line single hit by
Kaylee Williamson which brought
Alexis Aguado across homeplate. Williamson connected on three hits for two RBI's.
Sofia Gombos came in to pitch for three innings and collected two strike outs and was the winning pitcher. The Yotes took their first win of the day, 5-4.
In the second game of their double header, CSUSB took on the Western Washington University Vikings. The game was scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m., but due to a delay the Yotes couldn't take the field till approximately 7:30 p.m.
Natalie Carlos came to pitch and collected two strikeouts in the four innings she pitched.
Kelia Paragas connected for two hits and scored a run off of a hit by
Tereise Tosi. Washington University won the game, 7-2.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next game on Sunday, February 6
th at 10:45 a.m. at the Concordia Classic in San Diego against Academy of Art.
