SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Yotes traveled to Irvine to compete in the 2022 Concordia Classic. In their opening game of the season, CSUSB downed Dominican University, 5-3. The second game of their doubleheader the Yotes fell to Concordia University, 0-5.
In the first game of the day, the Yotes faced the Dominican University Penguins. Leading pitcher for CSUSB was
Brooklyn Blackmon who collected four strikeouts. The biggest hit of the game came from
Shannon Galliano who tripled in the third inning bring home her teammate for an RBI. The Yotes downed the Penguins, 5-3.
In the second game, CSUSB faced the hosting team Concordia University.
Sofia Gombos would be the lead pitcher for the Yotes as she collected three strike outs on the game.
Kelia Paragas and
Bailey Wallace collected hits for CSUSB. The Yotes were not able to make it across home plate against the Eagles. Concordia University took the win, 5-0.
CSUSB is scheduled to play their next doubleheader on Saturday, February 5
th starting at 9 a.m. in Irvine against Holy Names University.
