SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – CSUSB kicked off the doubleheader against Central Washington with a six run at bat in the first inning. The Yotes came out in the second game ready to take another victory, but it wasn't until the three run sixth inning that sealed CSUSB's second game. The Yotes closed the doubleheader against the Wildcats, 2-0.
In the first game CSUSB lead pitcher was
Raul Salazar who pitched for six innings. Salazar collected six strike outs. Both
Giovanni Del Negro and
Jake Borst hit home runs. Del Negro collected two hits for two RBI's from six at bats.
Derek Bogh led the Yotes in hits as was on target for four hits grabbing three RBI's.
Garrett Macias connected on three hits for two RBI's and one double from four at bats. CSUSB won the first game, 12-8.
The second game would remain scoreless for the first three innings. The score was tied at the top of the sixth when the Yotes scored three runs at the bottom of the sixth taking the lead and win, 6-3. Lead pitcher for CSUSB was
Andres Quinones. Quinones collected three strikeouts during his five inning pitch.
Daryl Ruiz connected on three hits and grabbed one stolen base.
Deshawn Johnson grabbed two hits for two RBI's and stole one base. Del Negro hit a big triple for two RBI's. The Yotes won their second game of the doubleheader against the Wildcats, 6-3.
CUSB is scheduled to play their next doubleheader on Saturday, February 12
