POMONA, Calif. – Just as the CSUSB women's basketball team did earlier in the day, the CSUSB men's basketball team also defeated Biola on Saturday night by a score of 82-62. With the win, the Yotes improve to 4-0 while finishing the Bronco Classic with a +60-point differential in their two wins at Kellogg Arena.
The Yotes were very consistent across the board in their offensive attempts against Biola, shooting 50.8 percent from the floor, 50.0 percent from three-point range, and 53.8 percent from the line.
Reigning First Team All-American
Brandon Knapper showed up in a big way for the Yotes, scoring 29 points against the Eagles while hitting five treys. The Ontario native also collected seven rebounds, eight assists, and four steals while powering the Yotes offense to the win.
Even with Knapper on the brink of 30 points,
Dontrell Shuler and
Darius Mickens also displayed impressive offensive performances – each scoring 19 in the win. Mickens collected nine rebounds and three assists while Shuler hit four treys with three rebounds. Senior
Eddie Davis rounded out the bulk of the scoring efforts for the nationally-ranked Yotes, putting together an 11-point performance while shooting 55 percent from the field. Together the four Yotes combined for 78 of the team's 82 points.
