POMONA, Calif. – The CSUSB men's basketball team cruised to a win against La Sierra on Friday afternoon, winning by a score of 96-56 in the first game of the Bronco Classic. The No. 6 Yotes remain undefeated to start the season, improving to 3-0.
Dontrell Shuler led the Yotes in scoring – this time putting up 17. The CCAA Player of the Week now has 58 points in three games, averaging 19.3 points per game. Shuler also leads the CCAA in three-points made with 10.
Brandon Knapper,
Mahmoud Fofana,
Eddie Davis, and
Sedrick Altman all scored double-digits, leading the Yotes to 96 points for their highest-scoring win since they scored 109 on February 26
th against Cal State Monterey Bay.
Kaijae Yee-Stephens nearly joined the double-digit club with nine points of his own, all of them coming off treys. CSUSB collectively shot 11-for-26 from deep, good for 42 percent. They also shot 40-for-63 from the floor for a 63.5 shooting percentage. That is their best team percentage since January 11, 2020, when they shot 63.8 percent against Cal State LA.
