TURLOCK – The No. 14 Yotes picked up another three-set win in conference play on Saturday night at Stanislaus State, taking set one 25-18, set two 27-25, and set three 25-21.
The Yotes hit .219 and held the Warriors to .112. The Yotes efficient attack was the difference tallying 10 more kills on six less attempts than Stanislaus.
"It was a hard fought win versus a scrappy Stanislaus State team," head coach
Kim Cherniss said. "I am happy to come home from any CCAA road trip 2-0, but we've got a lot of work ahead of us if we are to become the team we're capable of being."
Jalyn Hayes had eight kills, hitting .500.
Alexis Cardoza led with 13 kills and
Melissa Garciglia had 10 kills, hitting .258.
Asia Clarke added eight kills. Clarke led with 15 digs, and
Makena Overbey and Cardoza added 12 each.
Marlee Nunley ran the offense with 36 assists.
With that, the Yotes (7-3, 2-0 CCAA) complete their 10-match road trip to start the season and their home opener is Friday at 7 pm against Cal State East Bay. Live links are on CSUSBAthletics.com.
