SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Two teams from the CCAA conference earned spots in the NCAA West Region semifinals. Yotes were selected to host the event in Coussoulis Arena where they faced Cal State LA. The Golden Eagles took the victory, 3-0.
The Yotes connected for 26 kills on the match and had five service aces. CSUSB also collected 19 blocks and 52 digs on the match.
Leading in kills for the Yotes was
Alexis Cardoza who had nine kills, 13 digs, and two block assists. Leading in blocks for CSUSB was
Jalyn Hayes who muscled 10 blocks and had three kills.
Asia Clarke led in service aces collecting three and had five kills and 13 digs.
Leilia To'omalatai collected 12 digs of her own and had two service aces.
Marlee Nunley found her teammates for 22 assists and had four blocks and three digs.
They earned a first seed in the NCAA West Region championship and knocked just shy of the championship match. The No. 2 Yotes closed the 2021 season with an overall record of 26-4.
