The Yotes battled against the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos in a back-and-forth game that would not have a decisive winner till the very end. The Broncos would take the win, 69-65.
Cal Poly Pomona would take the lead in the first quarter, but the Yotes kept close by. The Broncos closed the first quarter, 16-12. Cal Poly Pomona kept the lead going into halftime, 37-27.
The Yotes went on a seven-point scoring streak that brought the 10-point lead down to only three. Slowly CSUSB chipped at the Broncos lead, closing the third quarter, 53-48. The score would be tied in the fourth quarter with the scoreboard at 55-55. The lead would change five more times, but the Broncos took the win, 69-65.
CSUSB finished the game with 32 two points in the paint. Also, 24 of their points came off the bench and went 42.6 percent on field goals. The Yotes went two for seven from the three-point line and 62.5 percent on free throws.
Leading in scoring for CSUSB was
Samantha Henley who finished the game with 12 points, seven assists, and one steal. Henley went four for eight from three-point range, shooting 50 percent on the game.
Destiny Jackson scored 10 points and had seven rebounds.
Nina Wallace also scored in double digits, as she collected 10 points and had one assist.
