In the first quarter the Cougars were quick to take the lead and closed the quarter with the Yotes down 27-6. The second quarter was very similar to the first with Azusa Pacific maintaining the lead, 45-26. CSUSB would not be able to close the gap as the Cougars took the win, 79-60.
Leading in points for the Yotes was
Mia Dufresne, who collected 19 points and had seven rebounds, two blocks, and one assist.
Destiny Jackson scored big for CSUSB, shooting for 16 points, had four assists and two rebounds.
Nina Wallace was close to double digits as she scored eight points and had two blocks.
The Yotes are strong off the bench as they collected 33 bench points. CSUSB was sure to capitalize of off a turnovers as well, scoring 18 points of off turnovers. The Yotes finished they game shooting 36.4 percent from field goal range.
"These were two tough games and we didn't give up" said Coach
Casandra Renno. "It gives us a great measuring stick of our improvements and where we can go form here."
