SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - On this night, CSUSB celebrated LGBTQ+ History Month and showed their support for the community by wearing ribbons and playing commemorative videos. The Yotes took the match in straight set, 3-0.
In the first set, the Yotes switched up their starting lineup, adding
Kaili Scott,
Lydia Morohunfola,
Ashley Robinson, and
Alewa Anaya to their very stacked rotation. CSUSB went for 13 kills and hit at a .462 percentage. Scott went for four blocks on the set, the most blocks she has collected in a single match this season. With
Leilia To'omalatai seven digs in the first set, the Yotes held the Toros to 14 points as they took the set win, 25-14.
CSUSB continued to strategize their rotation as setter
Kylie Thomas and outside hitter
Savannah Hoffman both stepped onto the floor for the Yotes in the second set. Hoffman collected her first kill of the match in her very first play on the floor. CSUSB went for 17 kills on the set. Thomas went for seven assists on the set, and Thomas finished the set with four kills. The Yotes won the second set, 25-17.
In the third and last set, opposite
Sydney McNeill made her first appearance. The Toros also had their best run of the match, scoring 21. CSUSB collected 13 kills, hitting at a .257 percentage. The Yotes took the last set, 25-21.
Leading for the Yotes in kills was both
Alexis Cardoza and
Melissa Garciglia who both connected for 10 kills.
Asia Clarke finished the match with seven kills, four digs, and two aces.
Marlee Nunley collected 28 assists, four digs, and two blocks. Morohunfola finished the match with seven kills hitting at a .883 percentage. The Yotes downed the Toros, 3-0.
