SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes split with Stanislaus State at home on Friday afternoon, dropping game one 5-10 but taking game two 2-0.
In game one, the Yotes had tied the game in the fourth with three runs. They all came home on a three-run shot from
Jamiana Gateb, who finished with three hits. The Warriors tacked on five more to the finish.
The Yotes had plated two in the first on a double from
Kaylee Williamson, who had two hits.
Haley Finn also doubled for CSUSB and
Samantha Vacko had two hits.
Taylor De'Tinne was the star of game two in the circle, pitching a two-hit shutout with no errors behind her. The Yotes took advantage of a sac fly in the second and error in the sixth to plate two.
Kaylee Williamson had two hits for the Yotes (10-9, 8-6 CCAA) who didn't need much behind De'Tinne, who stymied the Warriors (7-12, 6-8 CCAA).
