SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes shot the lights out in the first half on Thursday night, cruising to a 99-73 win over CSU Monterey Bay.
The Yotes shot 51 percent in the first half, 62.5 percent from three, including
Shea Rax who was eight-for-eight from three in that half and finished with a career-high 33 points.
Daytone Jennings had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Andres Villa had 17 points,
Jordan Mitchell had 16, and
Jeremy Smith scored 15 as the Yotes had five in double figures.
Villa and Smith each had seven boards as the Yotes (21-6, 16-5 CCAA) dominated that category +15. They led the Otters (10-17, 7-14 CCAA) in points in the paint, 42-20, and scored 20 points off 15 turnovers. The Coyotes finished the game shooting 46.8 percent from the field.
The Yotes led by double-digits by the 13-minute mark and just tacked on from there leading by as much as 32 in the second half.
