CARSON – The CSUSB Coyotes earned a series split with CSU Dominguez Hills on Monday afternoon, winning 3-2 in 10 innings in a makeup game for Saturday's rainout.
It was Darly Ruiz's solo shot int eh 10
th that gave the Yotes the win.
Deshawn Johnson had singled in the third to score one and the Yotes led 2-1 when
Andrew Talkington drove in Johnson with a single.
The Yotes (5-9, 2-6 CCAA) had nine hits, with Kimberly Carter and Ruiz having two each, with Carter scorching a double. CSUSB starter
Tyler Williams was excellent, going seven innings allowing two Toro (5-9, 4-4 CCAA) runs on three hits with six K's.
Ryan Kurtz and
Jackson Gilmore shut the door from there with Kurtz getting the win and Gilmore getting the save as neither allowed a hit.
