SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes claimed a series sweep over visiting CSU San Marcos on Saturday, 6-5 and 11-2.
The Yotes held on in game one, as they scored five in the third to pace themselves to six runs on eight hits.
Kendra O'Cull went the distance allowing just two earned runs.
Madison Veldman doubled to drive in two, and
Kaylee Williamson and
Sandra Carroll also doubled and had two hits in the game.
In game two, the Yotes scored five in the second and five in the sixth to win in six innings. Carroll,
Veronica Garza, Williamson,
Samantha Vacko, and
Alyssa Beck all doubled.
Kelia Paragas, Vacko, and Carroll all had two hits each. Carroll drove in three runs. The Yotes scored 11 runs on 12 hits.
On the day the Coyotes improved to 8-5 and 6-2 in the CCAA. They will travel to San Francisco State next weekend for a Friday and Saturday doubleheader beginning at 12 pm Friday. Live links are on CSUSBathletics.com.
