SAN FRANCISCO – The CSUSB Coyotes came up empty on day two at San Francisco State on Saturday, 1-3 and 3-6.
Game one was 0-0 into the fifth, and CSUSB tied the game with a sac fly in the sixth. SFSU scored two in the bottom half of that inning to earn the win though. The Yotes were quiet at the plate with four hits, all singles, but
Kendra O'Cull was solid in the circle allowing six hits with four K's and only two walks in six innings.
In game two, the Yotes fell behind 6-1 after three innings.
Jamiana Gateb singled in the fourth to score one and then hit a sac fly in the fifth as CSUSB (9-8, 7-5 CCAA) pulled within three of the Gators (10-8, 7-5 CCAA).
The Yotes had six hits but none for extra bases.
Haley Finn and
Kaylee Williamson had two each. CSUSB left 10 runners on base. O'Cull pitched the full game and only three of the runs she allowed were earned.
CSUSB returns home next week to host Stanislaus State. It begins Friday at 12 pm. Live links are on CSUSBathletics.com.
