SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes used a late-game push to move to 17-4 in a 75-67 win over visiting San Francisco State on Saturday afternoon.
The game was tied at half and CSUSB found themselves down with six minutes left, but finished the game on a 23-4 run to secure the win.
Jeremy Smith led with 23 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Daytone Jennings scored 15 points to go with 12 rebounds and dominated late.
Andres Villa scored 17 with eight boards.
Shea Rax added 11 with eight boards.
Tyrell Henderson dished four assists with seven points.
The Yotes (17-4, 12-3 CCAA) controlled points in the paint once again, 40-10, and the glass, 51-33. SFSU (8-15, 5-11 CCAA) shot 37 percent while CSUSB shot 42 percent.
"We had to lock in down in the paint," Jennings said. "We have to protect home court and we are confident heading out on the road."
