SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes fought hard to the very end and never faded, but fell to CSU Dominguez Hills at home on Thursday night, 68-74.
Ashlynn Sharp had a career-high 26 points and hit five threes.
Nina Wallace scored 14 in support and
Tehya Burroughs added 12. Wallace dished seven assists to lead the team and
Tatianna Russell grabbed nine rebounds.
CSUSB (1-11, 1-8 CCAA) outshot the Toros (7-8, 4-5 CCAA) at 44.6 percent, but were hurt by 22 second-chance points by CSUDH. The Coyotes outscored the Toros 19-16 in the fourth quarter and got within two with 20 seconds left on a three from Sharp. The Toros made just enough free throws to keep the game a two-possession contest.
