SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes fell to Cal State LA on Saturday afternoon, 87-73, at home.
The Yotes were within striking distance all game, but could never quite close the gap.
Ashlynn Sharp continued her hot shooting, scoring 18 points while hitting six threes.
Kayla Bibb added 15 and
Nina Wallace and
Tehya Burroughs had 14 each.
The Yotes (1-12, 1-9 CCAA) started slow and trailed 26-14 after one quarter, but never gave in and outscored the Golden Eagles (6-10, 4-6 CCAA) 21-14 in the second half. They trailed by five at half and got within three at one point.
The Yotes got a lot of good lucks but were hurt by missed layups. They shot 37.9 percent from the field in the contest. Bibb led with nine rebounds and
Tatianna Russell had eight. Wallace added three steals and four assists.
