SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes shrugged off a slow start and downed visiting Sonoma State on Thursday night, 58-54.
The Yotes (2-15, 2-12 CCAA) trailed by nine after one, but outscored the Seawolves the next three quarters to claim the win.
Kayla Bibb and
Ashlynn Sharp each scored 19 with Sharp recording a team-high seven boards. She added four assists in the all-around effort.
The Yotes attacked the basket and made 20-of-27 foul shots to earn the difference. They forced 18 Seawolf (13-7, 9-6 CCAA) turnovers for 16 points.
The Yotes got within one on multiple occasions in the second quarter, tied the game in the third, and took the lead for good at the 5:33 mark in the fourth quarter on two free throws from Bibb.
