SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes trailed by just one at half, but fell to visiting Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday night, 63-77.
Ashlynn Sharp led CSUSB with 16 points and added six boards.
Tatianna Russell scored 12 and a team-high seven rebounds.
Tehya Burroughs scored 11 and
Emily Herring had seven points and seven boards.
The Yotes (1-15, 1-12 CCAA) were close in the first half and even led, 22-21, at the 6:55 mark on a layup from Russell. They took three more leads before half but shot 29 percent in the decisive third quarter. The Yotes did have 16 assists on the game, four from
Nina Wallace, actually shot a better percentage from the field and three. The Broncos (12-7, 8-5 CCAA) made up the difference in rebounds and free throws made.
