SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes lost a pair of one-run games on Saturday afternoon, 1-2 and 2-3, to Humboldt State.
In game one, Claudia Lopez homered in the fifth to tie the game at one, but HSU took the lead back for good in the sixth. Kianna Abellera had two hits and Samantha Vacko doubled. The Yotes left seven runners on base.
In the second game, the Lumberjacks led 3-0 in the seventh, when Morgan Ratliff launched a two-run homer to left to get within one. Ratliff and Diana Gomez each had two hits for the Yotes, who outhit HSU 10-5. Vacko doubled again and Kendra O'Cull cooled the HSU attack allowing just one hit out of the bullpen.
CSUSB (20-12, 14-10 CCAA) will head back on the road next week to Sonoma State. The series begins on Friday at 1 pm. Live links will be on CSUSBathletics.com.
