POMONA, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes had the lead over No. 16 Cal Poly Pomona on the road into the fifth inning on Friday night, but fell 3-5.
The Yotes posted three runs in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead on a David Osuna two-RBI double and RBI-groundout. The Broncos grabbed the lead back with a grand slam in the fifth. Tyler Williams (1-4) held the Broncos to seven hits and struck out six. Jackson Gilmore allowed just a hit over the final two innings.
Richard Castro led the Yotes with two hits on the night. CSUSB (6-11) will host the Broncos at home tomorrow in a doubleheader starting at 1 pm. Live stats are on CSUSBathletics.com.
