TURLOCK, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes picked up a win in the final day of the Tournament of Champions on Sunday, downing Holy Names 6-5.
The Yotes scored six runs through the fourth to sixth innings to grab the win. Jamiana Gateb tripled to get CSUSB on the board in the fourth, and Claudia Lope singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth after the Yotes had been forcing the issue keeping the ball in play to produce runs.
Kendra O'Cull earned the save pithing a perfect seventh inning. Gateb had three of the Yotes eight hits, and Morgan Ratliff stole another base.
The Yotes (18-10) finish with a 3-2 record in Turlock and will return home next weekend to face Humboldt State on Friday at 1 pm. Live stats are on CSUSBathletics.com.
