TURLOCK, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes split day two at the Tournament of Champions in Turlock on Saturday, downing MSU Billings 3-2 before falling to Concordia (OR) 3-4.
Against MSU Billings, the Yotes score one run in each of the last three innings to secure the win. Claudia Lopez singled one home in sixth to highlight the runs. Anissa Padilla was solid in her start, allowing a single hit through four innings.
Against Concordia (OR), the Yotes scored three runs late in a great comeback attempt, but fell just one run short as they matched Concordia in hits with six. Kianna Abellera singled home a run in the sixth and Jamiana Gateb capped the inning with an RBI-single.
Amanda Ramirez (8-6) allowed just two earned runs in the game. The Coyotes (17-10) will wrap the tournament tomorrow at 9 am as they face Holy Names. Live links are on CSUSBathletics.com.
