Coyotes Get Series Split At Stanislaus

Take game two late

TURLOCK, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes split the series at Stanislaus State on Sunday morning, falling in game one, 2-7, and taking game two, 4-3.

In game two, the Warriors scored seven runs in the final three innings to overcome a 1-0 Coyote lead.  Sydney Kreimann had launched a solo shot in the third.  Samantha Vacko hit a solo homer in the fifth.  The Yotes left seven on base and had six hits.

In game one, the Yotes scored two runs in the final two innings to earn the split.  Dominique Walker gave CSUSB a lead in the sixth, 3-2, with a solo homer to left.  After Stanislaus tied in the sixth, the Yotes pushed one across in the seventh as the Warriors tried to get the advancing runner.  Morgan Ratliff doubled in the pitching duel, as Anissa Padilla (5-2) earned the win, and Kendra O'Cull held the Warriors to a single run over three innings.

CSUSB (14-7, 11-7 CCAA) remain in Turlock and will compete in the Tournament of Champions on Friday, opening with Western Washington at 9 am.  Live stats are on CSUSBathletics.com.
