TURLOCK, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes had an early lead, but fell 6-13 at Stanislaus State on Friday night in the series opener.
The Yoted led 4-1 after putting up four in the third inning as Richard Castro and David Osuna both laced RBI doubles. CSUSB tacked on two more in the fourth to go up 6-1 as Shawn Porthan doubled and Jacob Allen singled for the RBIs. Unfortunately, the Warriors would score 12 runs over the remaining innings.
Jackson Gilmore was the most effective Coyote pitcher, allowing no earned runs over three innings. Castro had two hits to lead the team.
The Coyotes (9-16, 6-14 CCAA) will get back at it tomorrow for a 1 pm doubleheader.
