POMONA, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes were just edged at No. 24 Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday night, 64-68.  The Yotes finished seventh in the CCAA Standings and will face UC San Diego on the road on Tuesday at 7:30 pm in the first round of the CCAA Tournament.

The Yotes had the ball, down only two, with one minute left, but could not connect on the three.  Tyrell Henderson led on the night with 14 points and Garrett Baggett added 13.  Daytone Jennings scored 12 and Andres Villa led on the glass with nine boards.  The Yotes dominated points in the paint, 26-16, and rebounds 42-34.  The Broncos made seven more foul shots and had seven less turnovers.

The Coyotes jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the game, and it was a fantastic first half with multiple lead changes and the Broncos leading 28-31 at the break on a buzzer-beating three.  Jennings drilled a three right to start the second half and it was on from there.  The Yotes led by eight four minutes in, but two minutes later CPP was in the lead.  The Coyotes fell down by nine, but got the game close late but just couldn't hit grab the edge.

CSUSB (15-13, 11-11 CCAA) moves on to face UC San Diego on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm in the first round of the CCAA Tournament at 7:30 pm.  Live links will be on CSUSBathletics.com.
