SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes completed the four-game sweep and moved to 7-0, their best start since the 1993 team opened the year 8-0. They bested their 5-0 start from last year.
After finishing off last night's suspended game in a 9-4 win, the Yotes took two more games at CSU San Marcos, 2-1 and 7-0.
In game one, Amanda Ramirez (3-0) went the distance allowing just one run with three K's. The Yotes scored in the top of the second off a single from Morgan Parsons and took the lead in the fourth on a wild pitch. Dominique Walker stayed hot with two hits.
In the nightcap, Coyote pitching dominated again with Ramirez and Bailey Powell (3-0) allowing a combined five hits to post the shutout. A sacrifice fly brought home a run in the first and third innings, and Walker doubled in the third to plate another. Morgan Ratliff homered in the fourth and Sydney Kreimann went deep fly in the seventh, both two-run shots as the Yotes pounded out 11 hits as a team.
The Coyotes are coming home next week to face CSU East Bay in their 2019 home opener on Friday at 12 pm. Live links are available on CSUSBathletics.com.
