SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The No. 22 CSUSB Coyotes fell in two games to San Francisco State on Friday afternoon, 3-1 in eight innings and 7-3.
A pinch-hit single from Kelia Paragas in the fifth inning in game one was carried by the Yotes into the top of the seventh. With two outs the Gators tied the game on a single and a double in the top of the eighth scored two.
Amanda Ramirez (3-1) started for CSUSB and scattered eight hits in what was a pitcher's duel early. The Yotes had six hits as a team and left nine runners on base. Dominique Walker doubled.
In game two, the Coyotes ran into trouble early allowing six runs through the first two innings. Anissa Padilla came in from the bullpen and was effective, scattering six hits over five-plus innings. Sydney Kreimann hit a two-run blast in the sixth to straightaway center and tripled, and Jamiana Gateb doubled.
CSUSB (7-2, 4-2 CCAA) will look to square the series tomorrow with a doubleheader at 12 pm against the Gators.
