SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Diana Gomez laced a triple to right field with two outs in the top of the ninth to score three runs, as CSUSB took game one, 8-7, at CSU San Marcos. The Coyotes were leading 6-4 in the sixth inning of game two when the game was suspended due to darkness. It will be resumed tomorrow before the Saturday doubleheader.
In the first game, Samantha Vacko and Jamiana Gateb singled with a Morgan Ratliff walk to set the table with two out in the ninth, and Gomez broke the 5-5 tie which had stretched on since the fourth inning.
Ratliff and Haley Finn led with three hits each, and Gomez and Morgan Parsons had three RBIs each. Amanda Ramirez came in from the bullpen early and finished the game, allowing three runs over seven and two-third innings to earn the win. Ratliff and Walker both doubled as the Yotes trailed 4-1 after two innings but tied it by the fourth.
In game two, the Yotes put up three in the second and the fifth to carry the 6-4 edge. Morgan Parsons had two hits and Ratliff drove in two runs with a single in the second.
