HAYWARD, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes could not recover from a six-run deficit and fell 5-8 at Cal State East Bay on Sunday afternoon.
The Yotes grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third on a single from Richard Castro and sac fly. The Pioneers tied it in the bottom half and scored six more runs through the fifth inning. Gabe Chavez singled a run home in the seventh and a sac fly brought another. David Nall doubled home a run in the eighth, but he was left stranded.
Ivan Ramos also doubled and Oscar Rauda was most effective on the mound for CSUSB, allowing one hit over the final two innings. The Coyotes (5-7, 2-5 CCAA) will look to get right at home, hosting CSU Dominguez Hills on Friday at 6 pm.
