HAYWARD, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes dropped a pair of CCAA games at CSU East Bay on Saturday afternoon, 4-7 and 0-8.
In game one, the Yotes grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first on a triple from Mando Rodriguez. After falling down 2-5 in the fifth, a sac fly and double from Jacob Allen got it back to 4-5 in the seventh. The Pioneers were able to tack on two more in the eighth.
Richard Castro added a triple for CSUSB as Blake Timm (3-1) and Jeff Kross combined to go all but a third of an inning on the mound.
In the seven-inning nightcap the Yotes were only able to get two hits, falling behind 6-0 through the first three innings. Jason Nall did double for the Coyotes (5-6, 2-4 CCAA) who will look to head home with a win tomorrow in the 11 am getaway game. Live stats are on CSUSBathletics.com.
