SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – CSUSB fell in game one Sunday afternoon, 7-10, but led 5-1 in the third inning of the second game, which was suspended due to weather. The game will be finished at a date to be determined.
In game one, the Yotes came back from a 3-0 deficit to take a 6-5 lead in the sixth on doubles from Gabe Chavez, Kyle Csakan, and Richard Castro. After CSULA tied in the seventh, the Yotes went back ahead in the eighth on a single from Sergio Rey. CSULA took the win with a grand slam in the top of the ninth.
Kyle Tolle came in to pitch five innings, allowing just one earned run on two hits, two unearned, and the Yotes had eight hits as a team.
In game two, the Yotes scored two runs in the first and three runs in the third, as Garrett Ouellette singled to score two in the first and singled with David Osuna in the third to make it 5-1. The game was suspended with the bases loaded for the Yotes with no out in the third. Noah Simon had allowed one run through three innings for the Yotes.
