SAN BERNARDINO – The No. 9 CSUSB Coyotes let one slip away on Friday as they fell in overtime to San Francisco State, 2-1, at home.
The Yotes, who had a couple balls off the post and crossbar in the first half, took a 1-0 lead in the 71
st minute when
Pedro Arellano converted a
Brandon Sangbarani throw-in in the box. The Gators tied the match eight minutes later and took the win two minutes into the extra frame.
"We are obviously disappointed to lose the game, particularly given the circumstances leading up to their first goal," head coach
Darren Leslie said. "Credit however to SFSU, who were hard to break down and while we still had a number of very good opportunities in the game, we were limited to set pieces for large spells. We need to regroup and be ready to get things back on track on Sunday."
The Yotes led in shots, 16-8, but it was square in shots on goal, 4-4. The Yotes will host Humboldt State on Sunday at 2 pm at Premier Field. Live links are on CSUSBathletics.com.
