SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes team that lost to Redlands on Sunday was a distant memory on Thursday night, beating Chico State at home, 88-72. 

The Yotes' defensive intensity was way up, forcing 13 turnovers for 17 points, and their offense was in much better rhythm, to the tune of 17 assists and 48.4 percent shooting, including seven threes.  Naradain James posted the double-double with 15 points and 15 boards, and Daytone Jennings (15), Andres Villa (14), Justice Green (12), and Garrett Baggett (11) all joined him in double figures.

The game was back and forth until CSUSB pushed their lead to 24-13 on a jumper from Jennings with nine minutes left in the first half.  A quick 12-1 run capped by a three from Baggett put the Yotes up 17 and they led 46-31 at the half.  The Yotes began to battle foul trouble late in the game, and only then did the lead dip under double digits, with CSUSB still winning by 16.

"It was a good team win today," Malik Rhodes said.  "We worked well as a team today, moreso that at any point this season so far."

The Coyotes absolutely dominated the glass, 49-28, with 13 offensive rebounds for 15 points.  The Coyotes also blocked five shots.  They Yotes (8-5, 4-3 CCAA) will look to win their fourth-straight conference game on Saturday at home against Cal Poly Pomona at 3 pm.  Live links are available on CSUSBathletics.com.
