SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes could not quite complete the comeback on Saturday afternoon, falling to Sonoma State, 71-79 at home.
The Yotes got within three late on a layup from LeAundra Walker-Brown, but that was as close as they could get. Jasmine Sauser led with 18 points, adding five boards. Tehya Burroughs scored 11 off the bench and Jazzmeen Williams matched that. Kayla Bibb scored 10 points. The Yotes were hurt by going 17-of-30 from the line, as Sonoma State made nine more.
The Yotes trailed by as much as nine in the second quarter, but came charging back to trail by one, 36-37 at half. They trailed by double-digits in the third quarter, but fought back to make a charge at the end.
