HAYWARD, Calif. – The CSUSB offense had a tough second half at Cal State East Bay on Thursday night, falling to the Pioneers, 40-56.
The Yotes led 23-22 at half, but scored just 17 points in the second half. Kayla Bibb led on the night with 14 points and seven rebounds. Jasmine Sauser and Courtney Coleman added six each. The Yotes were able to make nine free throws in the second half, but just four field goals after making 10 in the first half. The Coyotes did block six shots, with Bibb and Jamellia Clark blocking two each.
CSUSB led by five in the second quarter at one point and early in the third quarter, but had a five-minute scoreless stretch in the third quarter. The Coyotes (8-11, 7-8 CCAA) will look to bounce back against CSU Monterey Bay at 1 pm on Saturday.
