SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes held off the SFSU Gators all night and left with a 68-59 win on Thursday night inside Coussoulis Arena.
Jasmine Sauser led as usual with 19 points, adding six boards, two blocks and two steals. Jazzmeen Williams added 15 points and eight rebounds. Daisia Williams scored 11 points and Kayla Bibb led the team with 12 rebounds. The Yotes dominated the boards, 44-35, and made 24 free throws, attacking all night.
The Gators led early, but CSUSB quickly erased that and led 18-12 after one quarter. It was a back and forth game, but a jumper from Williams put the Yotes up seven early in the third quarter. SFSU snagged the lead midway through the fourth, but Jamellia Clark responded with a jumper to go up 54-53 with 4:44 left. Courtney Coleman dialed a big three at the two-minute mark to make it a six-point lead and CSUSB sealed it at the line.
"We can control the flow when we play as a team and when we did that tonight we were able to get the results," Sauser said.
The Coyotes (8-9, 7-6 CCAA) remain at home and will host Sonoma State at 1 pm on Saturday. Live links are available on CSUSBathletics.com.
