Yotes Beat Pioneers In Overtime Thriller

Walker-Brown Hits Two Foul Shots With .4 Left To Go To OT

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – LeAundra Walker-Brown stood at the line with .4 seconds left and calmly hit two foul shots to send the game into overtime and CSUSB's eventual win over Cal State East Bay on Saturday afternoon, 64-59.

It wasn't the path the Yotes, envisioned, as they led 40-30 after three quarters, but a quality overtime period secured the win.  Courtney Coleman, who finished with eight points, hit a huge three late in the overtime period to put the Yotes up five and seal the game.  Jasmine Sauser led with 18 points on the day, as Walker-Brown added 13 and Tehya Burroughs had a great first half with 10 points.  Kayla Bibb grabbed nine boards to lead the team.

The Yotes only led by one after one quarter, but outscored CSUEB 30-21 over the next two to put themselves in position.  They lost the lead for the first time in the half with just 33 secconds left.  Coleman had five points in overtime and Sauser had four.  The Yotes scored 20 points off 22 East Bay turnovers.

"I knew they were in foul trouble so I attacked the basket," Walker-Brown said of the last possession.  "There was a lot of pressure on those shots, but I knew I needed to make them to give us a chance to win in OT."

The Coyotes (6-8, 5-5 CCAA) moved to .500 in the CCAA and will take that record out on the road, beginning with Cal State LA next Thursday at 5:30 pm.  Live links will be available on CSUSBathletics.com.
