SAN MARCOS (April 28, 2018) — The Coyotes overcame a three-run deficit in the ninth, and then responded with six runs in the 12
th inning for an 11-7 win over host Cal State San Marcos on Saturday in CCAA baseball.
CSUSB (13-31, 13-25) and the Cougars (19-25, 14-24) complete the weekend series Sunday afternoon at Fiscalini Field. First pitch in game one of the doubleheader is 1 p.m.
In the ninth
Trailing 5-2, CSUSB's
Erick Allegro delivered a single to left that scored
Ty Lineberger, who led off on a hit by pitch. A pair of errors allowed the Coyotes' inning to continue with
Mando Rodriguez receiving an RBI on an infield error that allowed both
Gabe Chavez (single) and Allegro to score. One batter later, Rodriguez came in to score when
Garrett Ouellette reached on an outfield error and the game was tied at 5-5.
In the 12th
Allegro delivered a grand slam to right center that capped the six-run 12
th. The Coyotes sent 11 to the plate in the pivotal inning.
Alec Ceniceros also added his team-leading eighth home run in the 12
th.

Kyle Tolle gutted out four innings of relief and earned the win to improve to 1-1. He allowed three hits, striking out three, walking two and allowing two runs (both earned).
Three-hit attack
Allegro finished the game with five RBI and three hits. Chavez also had three hits.
