HAYWARD (April 21, 2018) — For the fourth straight weekend CSUSB earned a series split, winning 3-2 in eight innings and losing 9-7 to Cal State East Bay in CCAA softball.

CSUSB prepares for its final week of regular-season play at 25-17 overall and 15-15 CCAA. The Coyotes welcome Cal State San Marcos to Coyote Park, beginning Friday afternoon.
 
Game 1: Coyotes 3, Cal State East Bay 2 8 innings
Taylor Ancona delivered a run-scoring single to left that brought in 
Jessica Brown for the victory in eight innings.
 
The Coyotes collected 10 hits, and got on the board in the first innings, thanks to a run-scoring single by 
Sydney Kreimann and an infield, RBI ground-out by 
Jamiana Gateb.
 
Dominique Walker went 3-for-3 and 
Morgan Ratliff, Brown and Ancona all had two hits.
 
On the mound, 
Amanda Ramirez went the distance and improved to 15-11 with a two-strikeouts, one-walk and five-hit effort.
 
Game 2 Cal State East Bay 9, Coyotes 7
CSUSB committed five errors and the Pioneers rallied after trailing 7-5.
 
CSUSB scored five runs on six hits in the fourth — all with two outs. Brown capped the inning with an RBI-double that scored 
Monica Maddox, who singled to left center.
 
Ratliff, Walker and 
Samantha Vacko all had two hits.
