SAN BERNARDINO (February 17, 2018) — Junior Garrett Ouellette ripped a three-run home run that paced CSUSB in its 12-5 loss to No. 13 Azusa Pacific on Saturday at Fiscalini Field.

The Coyotes (0-6), trailed 9-1 before their four-run, five-hit sixth inning. Gabe Chavez led off with a double and Mando Rodriguez followed with a single. Three batters later, Anthony Ortega doubled down the left-fiel line and that brought up Ouellette.

Ty Lineberger, Chavez, and Rodriguez all had two hits for CSUSB, which finished with nine on the afternoon.

Ryan Rutherford took the loss, going two innings and giving up five runs — just one earned — and two strikeouts. Reliever Konner Arnold had three strikeouts in five innings.

CSUSB opens CCAA play next week at Cal State Monterey Bay.
