SAN BERNARDINO (February 17, 2018) — CSUSB clinched its first CCAA Tournament berth in three seasons after defeating Sonoma State 67-54 on Senior Night at Coussoulis Arena.
The record shows
CSUSB snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 13-12 overall and 11-10 in the CCAA. Sonoma State dropped to 9-15, 7-13.
Nicely done Jacardo
Senior
Jacardo Hawkins led the Coyotes in scoring with 22 points — 13 of which came in the first seven minutes of the game. He had nine rebounds with three assists, two blocks and five steals.
Making it happen on defense
CSUSB forced 21 turnovers and SSU scored just 18 field goals on the night. The Coyotes led by as many as 14 points in the second and never trailed.

Brandon Staton was masterful off the bench, scoring a season-best 17 points with three 3-pointers.
